Is the Stock Market Open on Thanksgiving in 2023?

Investors can sit back and enjoy a full day of turkey and football on Thursday, with the stock market closed on Thanksgiving.

Is the stock market open on Thanksgiving in 2023? The answer to this question is no. The stock market will be closed Thursday, November 23, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Bond traders will get the day off too, with bond markets also closed on Thursday.

And unlike some holidays, there are no early hours for bond traders ahead of Thanksgiving, as regular trading hours will be observed on Wednesday, November 22. However, both the stock and bond markets will close early on Friday, November 24, at 1 pm and 2 pm Eastern time, respectively.
