Best Walmart Black Friday Doorbusters and Deals 2018

Toys, TVs, Xbox bundles and other in-demand gadgets are among the doorbuster deals on tap from the world's largest retailer.

Die-hard Black Friday shoppers know that they can depend on Walmart to deliver the (deeply discounted) goods. Those looking to get a jumpstart can go to now to find early deals on items such as small appliances, computers and baby gear. Select doorbuster deals will be available online starting November 21 at 10 p.m. ET. In-store doorbusters will be available on Thanksgiving Day (November 22) starting at 6 p.m. local time and valid all day on Black Friday (November 23) while supplies last.

This year, the big-box retailer will be offering several incentives to get consumers in-store and spending. This includes complimentary cups of coffee and holiday cookies to customers while they shop. Also, if you download the Walmart app to your smartphone, you’ll be able to access the Black Friday store map. When you browse the retailer’s Black Friday circular on the app and select a product, its exact location will appear on the store map. For consumers who like to plan ahead, this will help you craft a shopping strategy to best maximize your time while navigating the large crowds.

With the help of several shopping experts -- True Trae's Trae Bodge,’s Courtney Jespersen,’s Lisa Rowan,’s Sara Skirboll,’s Saundra Latham and’s Brittney Mayer -- we've zeroed in on some of Walmart’s best Black Friday doorbuster deals for your consideration.

Athleisure Wear and Pajamas. For those thinking ahead to New Year’s fitness goals, you can stock up on athleisure wear sets at Walmart, which is known for its bargain prices on apparel, True Trae’s Bodge says. The big-box retailer will have women’s Athletic Works two-piece athleisure sets on sale for $12 and mens’ And1 two-piece track suits on sale for $11, she notes. Also, if your family is one that likes to wear matching pajamas during the holidays, this is the place to shop for deals. Walmart’s children’s two-piece character sleep sets will be on sale for $5, as well as women’s two-piece pajamas sets for $10 and mens’ Fruit of the Loom sleep pants for $4, Bodge adds.

In general, it’s best to steer clear of winter apparel (think: coats, hat and glove sets and boots) during the Black Friday shopping weekend. These seasonal items will be marked down significantly after the holidays.

Fitbit Versa. For the fitness enthusiast on your holiday shopping list, a Fitbit fitness tracker may be the perfect gift to give. Walmart will have the Fitbit Versa, which doubles as a smartwatch, available in-store on Thanksgiving Day for $150 (marked down from $200 -- that's 25% off), NerdWallet’s Jespersen notes.

Google Home Products. When it comes to smaller tech items, the big-box retailer offers competitive pricing. If you’re considering investing in Google Home products, you’ll find some of the lowest doorbuster prices in-store here, ThePennyHoarder’s Rowan says. Walmart’s 2018 Black Friday sale promotion includes a Google Home Mini bluetooth speaker (available in a new color that’s exclusive to Walmart) priced at just $25 (originally $50). There’s also a Google Home Mini and Chromecast bundle, which includes the bluetooth speaker, the video streaming device and a $15 VUDU credit, for $45 (originally $74).

iPhone XR. RetailMeNot’s Skirboll says this is one of Walmart’s standout electronics doorbuster deals. Apple’s iPhone XR is equipped with face recognition, an advanced camera system and an A12 bionic chip, which allows the mobile device to run faster compared to previous versions. Customers who purchase the smartphone (retails for $750) with a qualifying activation plan during the Black Friday shopping weekend will receive a $300 store gift card that’s good toward future purchases.

Be sure to read the fine print on this deal. It comes with stipulations including that the phone must be activated with an AT&T Next, Sprint or Verizon device payment plan by November 25 at which time you’ll receive the gift card.

Sharp or TCL 65-Inch 4K Roku Smart TV. Priced at $400, this is Walmart’s best overall TV deal for the size, says’s Latham. The specific brand and model available will vary by store location, but both Sharp and TCL are well-known brands. The TV set comes with 4K ultra HD resolution, as well as VUDU, Netflix and YouTube apps.

Keep in mind that at this price point, you’ll need to be one of the early-bird shoppers standing on line waiting for Walmart to open its doors on Thanksgiving to snag this deal. As with most TV-related Black Friday doorbusters, this one will be available in limited quantities.

Xbox Gaming Consoles. Deals on video game consoles are a Black Friday staple and shoppers can count on Walmart to deliver deep discounts, Jespersen says. She recommends shopping their selection of Xbox consoles. This year, the big-box retailer has two doorbuster deals worth a mention: The Xbox One S 1TB Mindcraft Creators bundle will be selling for $200. It comes with a gaming console, one controller and the Mindcraft game. The Xbox One X 1TB console will be available for $400, marked down from $500 -- that's 20% off. It comes with a gaming console and one controller.

Disney Toy Sets. Expect Walmart to offer one of the largest toy selections during the Black Friday shopping weekend,’s Mayer says. Those with children on their holiday gift-giving list can count on the retailer to have in-demand toys from top brands at the lowest prices. Walmart-exclusive Disney toy sets will be a popular doorbuster deal, she adds. Disney’s Doc McStuffins Checkup Center will be on sale for $35, marked down from $45. A quick scan of Target’s and Kohl’s Black Friday ads confirms that neither will have this specific toy set for sale. Walmart will also have select Disney Princess Dolls priced at $5 each -- an inexpensive stocking stuffer for kids.

Walmart will have plenty of other affordable stocking stuffers including DVDs on sale over the Black Friday shopping weekend, Jespersen says. These aren’t just classic movie titles, either. Recent releases that will be available for as little as $2 include “Jurassic World,” “The Secret Life of Pets” and “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.” By comparison, Target’s doorbuster deal price on DVDs starts at $4.
