I am the Senior Investing Editor at Kiplinger.com, having joined the publication in April 2021. I have over a decade of experience writing about the stock market and have covered corporate earnings reports and stock reactions over that time frame. I find corporate earnings to be so important because they allow investors a closer look into the strength of a company's fundamentals and how these may impact its share price down the road.

I am the former managing editor and chief investment strategist of Utility Forecaster, which was named one of "10 investment newsletters to read besides Buffett's" in 2015. Earnings calendar recap: JPMorgan Chase
JPMorgan Chase (JPM) is one of several Dow Jones stocks on the earnings calendar, with the financial firm disclosing its third-quarter results ahead of Tuesday's open.
For the three months ending September 30, JPM reported earnings of $5.07 per share, up 12% year over year, on revenue of $47.1 billion (+9% YoY).
Analysts expected the country's largest bank by assets to report earnings of $4.87 per share on revenue of $45.6 billion.
The company also said Q3 investment banking fees rose 16% from the year prior, while markets revenue was up 25%. The bank had $4.6 trillion in assets under management at the end of Q3.
"We believe the bank can deliver outsize performance for the rest of 2025 and 2026," says CFRA Research analyst Kenneth Leon. "In our view, it's difficult to deny that JPM maintains best-in-class status vs other large commercial banks. With net interest income at 55% of Q3 2025 total net revenue, we believe NII will make up for lower rates with higher loan volume activity in consumer and commercial units."
Earnings calendar recap: Domino's Pizza
Domino's Pizza (DPZ) released its third-quarter results ahead of Tuesday's open. The popular pizza chain reported earnings of $4.08 per share (-2.6% YoY) on revenue of $1.15 billion (+6.2% YoY). Wall Street was calling for earnings of $3.96 per share on $1.14 billion in revenue.
DPZ also said U.S. same-store sales jumped 5.2%, while global retail sales grew 6.3%
"In the U.S., we drove positive order counts behind our Best Deal Ever promotion and stuffed crust pizza product innovation for the third quarter," said CEO Russell Weiner in the earnings release. "Seeing our strategy being executed at such a high level gives me the confidence that we will continue to win and take QSR pizza market share around the world in 2025 and beyond."
