Lisa Hitt

Lisa edits stories for accuracy, grammar, spelling and punctuation, as well as fact-checking and style. She also refines stories to ensure clarity, readability and consistency.

Before joining Kiplinger, she was Web and Digital Projects Specialist at the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI), a statewide network of more than 40 Virginia higher education institutions. CCI promotes cybersecurity research, innovation and job creation throughout Virginia.

Previously, she was Content Strategist at George Mason University, where she wrote and edited content for websites.

She has presented sessions at the EduWeb Digital Summit in the United States and at the international ContentEd Conference in the United Kingdom.

Prior to joining academia, she was a journalist, most recently an editor in USA TODAY's Money section. She has also taught courses in journalism and public relations as adjunct faculty.

She has a BA in journalism and MS in public relations.
