Select from 20 different commercial tax-preparation-software vendors at www.irs.gov/freefile (some companies charge to prepare and file state income taxes). If you count yourself among the 30% of taxpayers whose income is too high to qualify for the free-file program, or your tax situation requires you to file special schedules and forms, you may need online or in-person help.
