9 Stocks for Valentine's Day

Put a little love in your portfolio with these shares.

Valentine's Day should be a burst of cheer amid all the economic gloom. The National Retail Federation's spending survey found that Americans plan to put up a total of $15 billion in the name of Cupid this year, or $103 per person. Granted, that's $20 less than last year, but it's still a far cry from macaroni-necklace territory.

So, assuming you aren't watching the stock market instead of catering to your beloved on the 14th -- and you have no excuse because it's a Saturday -- where can you invest before then to put yourself on the receiving end of that $15 billion? By the way, most of these stocks are trading for much less than they did a year ago, which is no surprise.
