FMI International is an international stock fund and a member of the Kiplinger 25, the annual list of our favorite no-load funds.
As a rule, the fund’s nine managers protect their foreign holdings from the effects of currency swings. They like high-quality large and mid caps with solid growth and shares that trade at attractive prices, but hold relatively few companies, currently only 35. One of FMI International top holdings, U.K. industrial firm Smiths Group, jumped 53% over the past 12 months.
