Summer is in full swing, and the food freebies and deals are aplenty. No matter your craving -- from chicken dinners and pancakes to sweet treats, frosty beverages, even coffee -- you can score some great eats on our list for free or at a deep discount this month.
Ready to dig in? Here are six food and drink deals you can take advantage of:
Free coffee. On Wednesday, July 1, Xtramart convenience stores in the Mid-Atlantic and New England will give away a free cup of coffee of any size to customers at participating locations.

Through Saturday, July 4, all U.S. and Canadian active military personnel can score a free small cup of hot coffee at participating Hudson News shops located in airport terminals and train stations throughout the U.S. and in Canada. To redeem this offer, a military ID is required if you’re not dressed in uniform.
Get a short stack of pancakes for $0.57. IHOP is turning 57 on Tuesday, July 7 and is celebrating by offering one short stack of their original buttermilk pancakes for $0.57 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Buy one dozen doughnuts, get second dozen for $0.78. Krispy Kreme celebrates its 78th anniversary on Friday, July 10 and is offering customers a sweet deal. Buy one dozen doughnuts of any flavor at full price (suggested retail price for one dozen original glazed doughnuts is $7.49), and get a second dozen original glazed doughnuts for $0.78.
Free Slurpees. Nothing says summer like Free Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven. On Saturday, July 11 (or 7/11, get it?) the 24-hour convenience store chain will be pumping out free small Slurpee drinks of any flavor from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Free meal. On Tuesday, July 14, Chick-Fil-A celebrates Cow Appreciation Day by offering a free meal (a breakfast, lunch or dinner entree) to customers who show up to a participating location dressed in a full cow costume.
Buy one, get one free deals on ice cream. Friendly's restaurant chain will be celebrating its 80th anniversary starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 18 by giving patrons a free scoop of ice cream in a cup or cone when they purchase another for $1.99. This offer is valid through Sunday, July 19.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream on National Ice Cream Day, which is Sunday, July 19. At participating Carvel ice cream shop locations, customers who buy a soft serve menu item will get another of equal or lesser value for free during normal store hours.
Free iced tea. In honor of National Tea Day, participating McAlister’s Deli locations will be giving away a free 32 oz. cup of sweet tea on Thursday, July 23, during normal store hours. Customers can also enter the restaurant chain’s online contest for a chance to win 25 years of free tea.
