An Easy Way to Track Daily Deals
Yipit tracks more than 200 deal-of-the-day sites to find the best offerings for you.

Occasionally I miss living in Washington, D.C., where Kiplinger's is headquartered. I did yesterday as I was interviewing Jim Moran, co-founder of the relatively new deal site Yipit.
The site aggregates the best daily deals from establishments in 15 cities, including Washington, D.C., and will cover 30 cities by the end of the year. Alas, the small city where I live isn't on the list -- and probably won't be. However, Yipit will soon be available in a larger city about an hour away from me.
Those of you who live in New York, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles and the other cities Yipit covers should consider yourself lucky. This site does bargain hunters a big favor by culling through more than 200 daily deal Web sites and compiling the best offerings into one place for you.

Profit and prosper with the best of expert advice - straight to your e-mail.
Here's how it works:
You enter your e-mail address and city where you live on the Yipit site and select the types of deals you want to know about (dining, health and beauty, retail and services, etc.). The Yipit team looks at all the deal-a-day sites, such as Groupon, LivingSocial and BuyWithMe, and aggregates the deals that are in your area and meet your preferences into an e-mail for you. Every time you log onto Yipit, you also will see a list of deals customized for you.
For example, if I still lived in D.C., I could get a $23 ticket for an exhibit and show at National Geographic Museum for just $10; $30 worth of food at several restaurants for just $15; and 56% off classes and memberships at Centered Yoga.
Moran says Yipit had about 2,000 subscribers in February 2010, shortly after he and co-founder Vin Vacanti created the site. Now it has 60,000 subscribers. By early 2011, he expects the site will be tracking deals in 50 cities.
