When does Cyber Monday start?
Cyber Monday always falls on the Monday after Thanksgiving and Black Friday. This means that Cyber Monday falls on Monday, December 1, 2025.
Experienced deal hunters will know that many of the deals on Cyber Monday are continuations of the same ones that appear as part of the Black Friday sales event.
However, there are still plenty of one-day-only and online-only exclusive deals that pop up on Cyber Monday itself, so it’s still worth setting aside some time to browse your favorite sites.
When does Cyber Monday end?
As we mentioned, Cyber Monday wraps up one of the biggest shopping periods of the entire year, following Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday.
With Cyber Monday falling on December 1, most deals are expected to wrap up by Tuesday, December 2, though some retailers may choose to extend promotions further into the holiday season.
What is Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday is essentially the online shopping counterpart to Black Friday. While the two events have increasingly merged into a full weekend of promotions, Black Friday is traditionally associated with in-store and general retail discounts, whereas Cyber Monday is known for offering some of the strongest deals specifically online.
The term “Cyber Monday” was introduced in 2005 by Shop.org, the online division of the National Retail Federation, to describe the surge in online shopping that takes place on the Monday after Thanksgiving. Like Black Friday, it has since grown into a global shopping event.
What to expect from Cyber Monday 2025
Cyber Monday usually brings significant discounts on popular tech, clothing, toys, home goods and more, whether you are shopping for gifts or picking up something for yourself.
While many of the best offers may be similar to those available over Black Friday weekend, it is still worth watching for limited-time flash sales and online exclusives from your favorite retailers.
For example, Amazon is known to have new limited-time “Lightning Deals” cropping up throughout the promotional period.
Does Walmart have a Cyber Monday sale?
Based on recent years, we can expect markdowns across popular gift categories throughout the Black Friday weekend and into Cyber Monday.
Walmart will once again run an online-only Cyber Monday sale on Monday, December 1, with Walmart+ members getting early access beginning Sunday, November 30 at 7 p.m. ET.
If you plan to shop Walmart’s Cyber Monday event, it may be worth signing up for Walmart+ ahead of time, since members are able to shop several hours earlier and may have a better chance of securing high-demand items before they sell out.
Does Costco have a Cyber Monday sale?
Costco will also hold a Cyber Monday sale on December 1, offering a full day of online savings.
If you want to get a sense of what to expect, the Costco Black Friday hub already has previews of upcoming deals and key details.
You can also sign up for email alerts to be notified as new offers are released and to stay ahead when the sale goes live.
Does Target have a Cyber Monday sale?
Target’s Cyber Monday deals usually begin late Sunday evening and continue through Monday.
To stay updated, it’s a good idea to sign up for Target’s email notifications, and if you haven’t already, join the free Target Circle rewards program to access member-only savings.
Shoppers with a Target Circle Card can also take an additional 5% off eligible purchases, which can help boost your savings during Cyber Monday.
Is Cyber Monday worth it?
Cyber Monday is worth taking advantage of if you are already planning to make larger purchases. As long as the sales do not lead to overspending or impulse buys, it can be an effective way to handle holiday shopping without straining your budget.
To stay on track, set a realistic spending limit and have a clear idea of what you plan to buy, whether that is toys, clothing or tech. This will help you focus on meaningful discounts rather than getting swept up in every deal you see.
