Retailers, gyms and theaters mark down prices in June, July and August. By Cameron Huddleston, Former Online Editor June 3, 2010 It’s June, it’s hot, and the deals are even hotter. Do I sound like a commercial or what? Seriously, though, the summer is a good time to get bargains on lots of items. For example, gyms and health clubs offer discounts in the summer months, when business drops off. Or, if you’re heading to New York City in July, you can find bargain tickets to Broadway shows that have had a long run. Look for discounts of up to 50% at www.applause-tickets.com or www.playbill.com. If your patio furniture needs replacing, hold off until August, when retailers lower prices to clear out summer inventory. For more deals, see our Best Buys of Summer slide show.
