Roundup: Best Black Friday and Thanksgiving Deals at Top Retailers 2017

Here's a roundup of doorbusters and deals from Walmart, Costco, Best Buy, Toys R Us, Home Depot, Lowe's and Amazon.

Americans and shopping go together like turkey and stuffing. And at no time does the shopping get more frenzied than Black Friday. According to a holiday survey conducted for Ebates, a cash-back shopping site, more than three-quarters of those surveyed plan to buy gifts on Black Friday. Furthermore, nearly 1 in 4 Americans expect to start their Black Friday shopping immediately after Thanksgiving dinner, and 11% plan to shop on their mobile phones during the holiday meal. Among the top items on Black Friday shopping lists: TVs, toys and laptop computers.

We talked to several deals experts to identify some of the best doorbusters and bargains being offered by major retailers on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday. Here's a sampling of what the shopping pros like at Walmart, Costco, Best Buy, Toys R Us, Home Depot, Lowe's and Amazon on Thanksgiving and Black Friday 2017. Walmart's Black Friday deals are available online starting at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time on Thanksgiving. In-store deals including doorbusters start at 6 p.m. local time on Thanksgiving Day. Highlight: a 55-inch Sharp Class 4K Smart TV for $298.


Costco stores are closed on Thanksgiving Day, but many online deals for members of the warehouse club start on Thanksgiving and run through the weekend as long as supplies last. Highlight: HP Pavilion 15.6" 1080p Touchscreen Laptop for $700 (regular $900).


Best Buy

Deals are already happening online, but Best Buy's Black Friday sale officially starts at most stores on Thanksgiving Day at 5 p.m. local time until 1 a.m. Most stores reopen at 8 a.m. on Black Friday. Highlight: a 40-inch Samsung Smart 4K Ultra HDTV for $328 (regular $550).

Toys R Us

Select pre-Black Friday deals rolled out early, but hardcore shoppers can search the aisles in-store starting at 5 p.m. local time on Thanksgiving Day. Many Toys R Us stores are staying open for 30 hours straight. Highlight: Power Wheels Boomerang 12-Volt Ride-On for $250 (regular $400).

Home Depot and Lowe's

Home Depot and Lowe's stores are closed on Thanksgiving, but both retailers are offering online-only specials on Thanksgiving Day. Many Black Friday deals are only good for as along as supplies last. According to shopping experts, the best things to buy during Black Friday sales at Home Depot and Lowe's are appliances. Home Depot highlight: Frigidaire 21.9 cubic foot French door refrigerator (stainless steel), $1,398 (regular $2,749); Lowe's highlight: Samsung top-load washer/dryer pair for $379 each (regular $549 each).


Amazon has been pushing out deals for days, with many aimed at its Prime members, and holiday deals will continue to materialize on Thanksgiving, Black Friday and beyond. Not surprisingly, some of Amazon's best deals are on Amazon gadgets. Highlight: Fire HD 8 tablet for $50 (regular $80) starting on Thanksgiving.
