Veterans Day Freebies

Take advantage of special offers on or around November 12 if you've served our country.

Businesses will honor the men and women who served our country by offering them freebies and discounts on or around Veterans Day. So if you're a veteran, active-duty or retired military personnel, you don't want to miss out on the deals listed below. Check back because we'll be adding more deals as we learn about them.

Applebee's will say thank you to military members with a free meal November 11 (dine-in only).

Chili's is offering a free entrée (from a limited menu) to veterans and active-duty military November 11. Proof of military service required.


Famous Dave's will offer free meals or special discounts November 12 at participating locations.

Golden Corral will hold its annual free military appreciation dinner Monday, November 12, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. to anyone who has ever served in the military (no ID required). The dinner is open to friends and family of military members, but they will have to pay the regular dinner menu pricing.

Hooters will have free wings (with a drink purchase) for vets and active-duty military personnel November 11 at participating restaurants.

Krispy Kreme will give a free doughnut and coffee to veterans and active military on November 11.


Lone Star Steakhouse is giving veterans and active duty military a entrée from its Stars & Stripes Menu on November 12.

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants will offer veterans (with official verification) a free entrée from a special menu November 11. Dine-in only.

On the Border is giving veterans who dine in the restaurant November 11 a free entree certificate (valid up to $10) to use November 12 through 30. And any customers who present a flyer from On the Border's Facebook page will have 15% of their purchase donated to Carry the Load, a non-profit organization that honors service members.

Outback Steakhouse will honor veterans and active military (ID required) with a free Bloomin' Onion and Coca-Cola November 11 and 12. Military personnel with a valid ID or in uniform also will receive 10% off their entire check (excluding alcohol, taxes and gratuity) November 13 through December 31.


Spaghetti Warehouse has a coupon for a buy one lasagne or original recipe spaghetti entrée and get another one for free November 9 through 12.

Subway is offering a free six-inch sub to veterans November 12.

Texas Roadhouse will honor vets and active-duty military with a free lunch (from a special menu) November 12. Proof of service required.

T.G.I. Friday's will offer veterans and military personnel (with proof of service) a free lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. November 12 at participating locations (contact your nearby T.G.I. Friday's to see if it is participating).


Twin Peaks is offering a free lunch or dinner to service members (with ID) November 11 and 12.

Free park admission

Anheuser-Busch Parks offers free admission to active-duty personnel and up to three dependents to Sea World, Busch Gardens or Sesame Place. The offer is available year-long but is valid only for one single-day admission per person.

Colonial Williamsburg offers free admission November 9 through 12 to active-duty military, veterans and retired military and their dependents.

Knotts Berry Farm offers free admission for veterans and active-duty military (with ID) and one guest November 1 through January 6, 2013.

U.S. National Parks will waive entrance fees for everyone at more than 100 parks November 10 through 12.
