Some of the best advice I got before I had my first child came from Baby Bargains ($17.95). Okay, so it didn't tell me how to get my daughter to fall asleep on her own, but it did help me find a good deal on a crib -- and stroller, car seat, high chair and more. Not only do the authors tell you what products you really need and when, they tell you what things are a waste of money. The book has a rating, price and information on how to purchase all the items reviewed, from toys to necessities and evening maternity and nursing items. It's also full of smart shopper tips. So before you buy (or register) for anything, consult this book first.
