In 2008, 2.3 million properties were placed in foreclosure. That's an increase of 81% from the previous year. And with over 1.5 million foreclosure filings in the first half of 2009 alone, it is clear that the housing crisis is sill going strong. But not everyone is at the same level of risk; geographic location factors heavily into the likelihood of foreclosure. The chart illustrates which states in the U.S. present the greatest risk.
