With unemployment in double digits for the first time in two decades and constant comparisons to The Great Depression of the 1930s on the nightly news, it’s no wonder people feel uneasy about the future. Fact is, 7.6 million people have lost their jobs since 2008, and 11 states set all time records for unemployment in 2009. But if we look at 2009 job trends in all 50 states, the picture is more nuanced, although by no means pleasant.
