Starting now, our tables, which have always suffered from the constraints of the printed page, make a quantum leap in utility. Kiplinger.com will list the top 25 funds over one-, three- and five-year periods for almost two dozen stock-fund categories: 11 diversified U.S. stock groups, seven categories of sector funds; hybrids, which invest in a mix of securities; specialized funds; and three international stock-fund groups. Bond funds are subdivided into eight categories. See the new and improved tables now.

Click on a fund in one of these tables and you'll be whisked to a page with detailed information about the fund. What's more, instead of having to wait a month for fresh rankings, Kiplinger.com will provide updated performance numbers twice a month.

This is just the beginning. As time goes on, you'll see further enhancements. We expect to divide the fund universe into still-narrower categories, and we plan to offer separate rankings of exchange-traded funds. And we're listening.
