The IRS originally announced that electronic deposits to taxpayers bank accounts would begin Friday, May 2. Paper checks for taxpayers who did not have 2007 tax refunds directly deposited in their bank accounts will be sent starting May 9, also a week ahead of schedule.

The order of the payments will depend on the last two digits of your Social Security number. To estimate when your rebate check should arrive, see When to Expect Your Rebate Check. (The dates listed are based on the original schedule from the IRS. You can expect your money at least a week early, or maybe even sooner.)

My son was supposed to get his money on the 9th but it didnt go in the bank. I heard that if you had your efile fees deducted from your refund that kicked you out of the direct deposit option and you will receive a paper check....

I make my living doing forestry contracts for the USFS. All our payments are direct deposit. If they are only 30 days late that is a huge relief!

May 16 has come & gone and still no "economic stimulus rebate." I guess the gov't doesn't think MY economy NEEDS to be stimulated. I don't owe back taxes, child support, school loans or otherwise have anything that would suck up the "prebate" ...What's up with the delay?

why is it that when we owe them money, it has to be there by a certain time, when they owe us, it gets here whenever...?
