YOUR FINANCIAL TOOLKIT: Investing
Buy Treasury Bonds Online

Few investments are safer than Treasury bonds. Get comfortable investing your dollars and get started with the easiest investment you can make:

Buy your treasuries online: At Treasury Direct, all you need is your Social Security number and a link to your bank account to buy Treasury bills, notes, bonds, Treasury inflation-protected securities and U.S. savings bonds.

There's no fee, but Treasury Direct charges $45 to sell securities before their maturity date.

If you plan to do that, it's better to open a brokerage account and transfer your bonds after a mandatory 45-day waiting period.

But don't play games. Buy Treasuries for safety and income.
