If you have a burning personal finance question -- such as how much should you save for retirement or whether your investments are appropriate for your goals -- you're in luck. This Friday, October 6, you can get free personalized advice from expert financial planners during part two of Kiplinger's Jump-Start Your Retirement Plan Days. Just call toll-free 888-919-2345 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. and pose your question to one of the many financial advisors who have volunteered to provide this free service.

That's what more than 1,300 people did on Thursday, September 21, the first phase of the Kiplinger's Jump-Start Your Retirement Plan Days. Typical questions ranged from how to choose the right investments within your 401(k) plan to when to withdraw money from your retirement accounts in the most tax-efficient way. "It's great to see so many folks reach out to Kiplinger and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors for unbiased financial advice," says NAPFA chief executive officer Ellen Turf. NAPFA members are fee-only financial advisors who normally charge $100 to $250 an hour for their services.

"Kiplinger's Personal Finance has been helping readers realize their financial goals for nearly 60 years," says editor Fred Frailey. "This is just another way we can help people make the most of their money." Frailey noted that this is a free public service open to anyone, not just Kiplinger's subscribers. "So if you have a personal finance question, ask away. We've got answers."

To make the most of your call, pull together any relevant records ahead of time. If you want to ask about your investment allocation, for example, you need to give the planner a quick overview of how your portfolio is invested. If you questions can't be answered on the spot, you may be referred to resources on the Internet that will help you find the information you need. Complex questions may require complex answers and you may be directed to NAPFA's Web site, www.napfa.org, to locate a planner near you.
